Week 2 Ethical Issues
Q Instructions
Most organizations have job boards on their web page where applicants
can apply for jobs online. What ethical obligations, if any, do organizations have to individuals who apply for jobs online?
There is a minimal degree of secrecy for those who apply for jobs using paper and pencil, and there is a minimum level of secrecy that individuals who apply for jobs using the internet have. Online applications' produced data must be kept on a reliable server (Greyson et al., 2018). This question should be included in the application process to determine whether or not applicants are OK with their current or prior employers being contacted for the purpose of obtaining background information. To be fair, all applications should be considered at some point, yet, the sheer amount of applications submitted electronically may necessitate application filtering. Many companies benefit from informing job seekers whether they have been selected for an interview or if they have been rejected outright (Greyson et al., 2018). As a result of this, the candidate will be able to conduct their next job search in a more successful way.
